Open Practice Recap

From my piece over at The Western Herald:
The complete Detroit Pistons team is gathered near the scorer’s table. Each player wears a blue or white practice jersey with their numbers printed on both sides.
With a basketball in his hand, backup guard Will Bynum steps out of the group and firmly plants his feet just outside the right wing. Small Ball, Botched Call

Well, the Palace crew is now 2-0 in the preseason. Great win last night, despite the preseason status. However, it seems the bigger story around the media is the replacement refs’ free throw blunder:
The replacement referees caused confusion in the first quarter of the Pistons’ 113-104 preseason win over the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night. Ersan Ilyasova was fouled while shooting a jumper and awarded two free throws. Let AI rest, the Pistons are on a roll.
Detroit pulled off a 100-93 win in Toronto yesterday night- without Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, or Allen Iverson.  Chauncey still hasn’t taken his physical over in Denver, but it is scheduled for today so Iverson is almost guaranteed against the Nets on Friday.
It was “one of those games” for Tayshaun, who knocked down 10 of 13 and finished with 27 points, 9 rebounds.  He was unguardable last night, swooping to the bucket at will.
There were so many second-chance points that fell in favor of Detroit.  …
