Pistons-Heat: Dodging Bullets
PistonPost.com welcomes guest writer Joshua Kalil!
•The streak of 259 straight home games sold out is over and they blamed it on the economy, but this is the worst the Pistons have played since acquiring Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins in 2000. [JK]
•Dwyane Wade called it “one of the best games [he's] been in this year,” and I’d agree. Right down to the wire. It was ugly, but it was fun to watch. [AD]
•Sheed coming up BIG from the long line. [AD]
•Who would have thought at the beginning of the year the Pistons would be struggling with a team like the Heat, that despite Wade’s star power only had 18 wins last year? [JK]
•It looks like D-Wade is becoming much more comfortable with the 3-point shot. He made 4 of 9, including that relentless corner long ball to keep the Heat in it. [AD]
•The only time fans here Amir Johnson’s name in this game is when he’s getting another foul. Two quick one’s in the 3rd make you realize why he’s coming off the bench. [JK]
•I can’t say I was surprised when Rip missed both free throws to ice the game. His play has improved as of late, but it still looks like part of him isn’t there. [AD]
•Stuckey just seemed to be running circles around the Heat, not letting them set up their defense before he is already driving to the basket. He’s either drawing fouls or getting easy looks. [JK]
•Antonio McDyess grabbing 17 boards- not too shabby. [AD]
•The Pistons didn’t play perfect by any means, but most of them are sure putting their hearts into it. Thankfully Wade missed the final shot, or we could be having a completely different discussion. [AD]
