Acker Back, Dixon returns to Wizards

alex-acker.jpgAs the start of the preseason draws near, the Pistons continue to tweak their lineup bit by bit.

Detroit signed free agent Alex Acker after he spent a season with the Greece-based club Olympiakos (I’m not quite sure why he’s holding a rim in that picture, must be a Greek thing).

If the name rings a bell, it should.  Acker was drafted 60th overall by Detroit in 2005, but only played him in 5 games that season.  He doesn’t have much NBA experience, but his time overseas has probably heightened his basketball IQ enough to back up an iron-clad Pistons backcourt.

In other news, free agent Juan Dixon signed with the Washington Wizards, the team that drafted him, and he spent three seasons with, back in 2002.

Dixon provided some solid minutes last year and was a nice jumpshot boost in the playoffs when the Pistons needed him.
