Balanced attack leads Pistons over Nets

5 April 2008 No Comment

antonio-mcdyess-4-5-08.jpgThe Pistons’ starters keep getting less and less playing time, but they just keep on winning; beating the New Jersey Nets in a 106-87 blowout that came from all ends of the floor.

ppbullet2.pngDyess and Sheed scored a combined 36 points on 16-23 shooting, including 14 rebounds and 3 blocks; all on about 24 minutes each.  Not to mention a Sheed trey from wayyy downtown as the half ended.

ppbullet2.pngAnother excellent night for Rodney Stuckey, who had a career-high 9 assists to go along with his 14 points.

ppbullet2.pngShady flagrant foul called on Stuck in the 4th against Nenad Krstic.

“I’m sure Joe has probably appealed it,” said Saunders, who then added, “in fact, I know he has.”

ppbullet2.pngStromile Swift had a nasty put-back dunk in the first quarter.

ppbullet2.pngJuan Dixon heated up in a hurry at the end of the game.  He finished with 11 points, but 9 came in the 4th quarter.

ppbullet2.pngNo Vinceanity for the Nets, but no Rip for the Pistons.

ppbullet2.pngDevin Harris, who has been lights-out with the Nets, was held to some pretty bench-like stats- 8 points, 4 assists.

ppbullet2.pngRebound war dominated; 48-31.

ppbullet2.pngEarly in the game, the Pistons were notching an assist for almost every made bucket.  This [not-so-unusual] unselfishness really helped set the pace for the rest of the game.
