Hayes’ 29 leads Pistons over Hornets
Pistons fans can only hope that Georgia wins the NCAA tournament now.
“Georgia made to the SEC championship game yesterday, and I’m just riding the wave,” Hayes said after scoring 29 points in the Detroit Pistons’ 105-84 win over New Orleans on Sunday. “I was feeling good all day long.”
Jarvis went 10-13 from the floor, including 7-8 from downtown, in a game where he simply couldn’t miss a shot. He continues to notch big games against big opponents, with February’s manhandling of the Suns coming to mind, when Hayes dropped 18. Hopefully this type of play can extend into the playoffs, with Hayes being a 5-year NBA vet. If yesterday’s game made you a Jarvis Hayes fan, I recommend checking out my September prophecy as well as my feature article on the Hayes twins.
9 points, 9 boards and 3 blocks for Max, including one monster block on Tyson Chandler.
“There’s no question—that block ignited the team and ignited the crowd,” Saunders said. “We really took off after that.”
Good thing too- I was getting sick of those damned Paul-Chandler alley-oops.
Dice getting it done on the offensive glass yet again- 6 of his 11 rebounds came on Pistons’ possessions.
Tyson Chandler averages 12 & 12, he got 8 & 6 last night.
Another good game out of Chris Paul, who rarely sees off-nights as of late. 14 points and 14 assists, very Nash-like.
Peja Stojakovic was knocking down long balls early but it ended up being nothing compared to The Jarvis Show.
Rodney Stuckey needs to try to keep the assist-to-turnover ratio a bit higher. I know he’s a scorer but he needs to watch where he takes the ball regardless.
Melvin Ely filled in well for David West; he had 15 on 7-11 shooting.
Pistons take on the Nuggets Tuesday at 7:30.
