Pistons make statement with San Antonio sweep
Big win last night against the Spurs, should make a statement with all the naysayers, although I doubt it will get anymore airtime than the usual recap.
Rip had a huge game, dropping 25 and nailing a near-impossible and-1 jumper from 20 feet out.
“I’m never in a lull,” Hamilton insisted. “When I don’t shoot, people think that something’s wrong. We got a lot of All-Stars on this team.”
Tayshaun also stepping it up once again as the postseason nears. He had 17 points, 5 boards and 6 dimes.
Although Tony Parker went 12-18 from the field, it seems more like 18-18. Everthing was falling and every drive to the lane seemed to end up in Spurs points.
Smothering defense on Tim Duncan, who went 9-23 and got blocked 4 times. Mostly due to the energetic play of Sheed as well as Dice, who grabbed 17 rebounds, including 6 offensive.
Damon Stoudemire jacked up 7 long balls in 19 minutes, hitting only 1 of them.
I miss floor time from Arron and Amir, not to mention the occassional Walter sighting.
Pistons-Hornets; Sunday @ 1:00 on ABC.

I am more than happy that I caught the 4th quarter of last nights game. I now have a newfound respect for Rip, and a newfound disrespect for the Spurs and Finley’s last-second hesitation “juking.” The Spur’s foul against Rip in the final minutes of the game (in which he was able to tag the 3rd point of his drive) was pitiful… at best.

I’m glad you are coming to your senses in respects to Sir Richard Hamilton. And I’d have to agree with you about Michael Finley. When you’re down 4 points with 4 seconds left, there usually isn’t much time to juke.
