Rip Falls Short in 3-Point Shootout
Rip was well-equipped with a flame-embroidered shooting sleeve, but it wasn’t enough to help him advance past the first round of Saturday night’s NBA All-Star 3-Point Shootout.
Hamilton finished with a total of 14 in the first round, but didn’t make the cut, along with Steve Nash and Peja Stojakovic. Jason Kapono, Dirk Nowitzki and Daniel Gibson all advanced to the 2nd round, but Kapono came out on top and tied the record with 25 points. He made 20 of his 25 attempts.
Chauncey Billups, Bill Laimbeer and Swin Cash also came up short in the Haier Shooting Stars contest. They were also to unable to advance past the first round.
Make sure to tune in to TNT tonight at 8 to watch Chauncey, Rip and Sheed go at it in the NBA All-Star game.
