Pistons Beat Up On Blazers; Extend Win Streak to 7
The score doesn’t reflect the pounding that Detroit handed the Blazers last night- and most of it came from the bench as the Pistons beat the Portland Trail Blazers 91-82.
HUGE night for Rodney Stuckey and Amir Johnson. Stuckey notched up that career high again with 13 points and Johnson dropped 10 with 6 boards and 3 massive blocks. Stuckey sure can get into the lane pretty easy- visions of him cutting through a double team at the point and scooping the ball in to the left of the hoop loom in my head. I’d say our bench is in pretty good hands.
Chauncey Billups scored 17 points- all of which came in the 1st quarter. The Blazers really needed Brandon Roy.
Big note- Blazers went 0-8 from behind the arc. The Pistons: a red-hot 9-16.
LaMarcus Aldridge got the best of the matchup with Sheed, although Sheed did knock down 3 of 4 from downtown. Aldridge looked like the only Trail Blazer who came to play.
Pistons had 26 assists. It seemed like almost every field goal was the result of an assist. Incredibly unselfish ball going on- as usual.
Rip to Tay alley-oop count: 2.
C-Webb update: Webber started in Thursday’s game for the Warriors, but only played 12 minutes and managed to score 4 points. Warriors lost 108-114 to the Bulls.
