Rip Gets His Wish: The 3-Point Shootout
The NBA announced Wednesday afternoon that Hamilton had been selected to participate in the competition for the first time in his career. Hamilton will have to overcome a field that includes Kobe Bryant, Daniel Gibson, Steve Nash, former champion Peja Stojakovic and defending champion Jason Kapono.
“You’re looking at the new 3-point champion,” Hamilton crowed to the media crowd gathered near his locker prior to Wednesday night’s game against Miami.

“Rasheed (Wallace) is hoping he doesn’t win because he thinks that will be bad for us,” Saunders said. “He’s going to want to shoot 3s all the time.”
