Rip KO’s Charlotte In OT; Pistons Win 103-100
The Charlotte Bobcats, fresh off of an underdog win in Boston, had all the momentum they needed coming into Saturday night’s game against the Pistons. However, Detroit’s backcourt had an objection to Charlotte’s streak.
Chauncey again showed up playing the role of Mr. Big Shot with 27 points, 7 assists, and a clutch 3 ball to tie the game at 91 during regulation.
Rip hit the game winner while fading on the baseline from about 10 feet away, with 16 seconds left. I wouldn’t have picked anyone else to take that shot.
Nazr Mohammed had another great game for the Bobcats with 19 points, 13 boards and 3 blocks. Brings back memories of early last season…
Pistons took 18 more shot attempts than the Bobcats.
The Bobcats were without guards Ray Felton and Jeff McInnis. Luckily for us- they could have easily made an impact to push the Bobcats forward.
Tay had another solid game with 22 points and 7 boards.
Something needs to be done about Flip Murray’s constant DNP’s. He’s far too effective to be inactive so much- I’m sure Joe Dumars is looking for a trade, but let’s hope there’s some action coming soon.
Gerald Wallace’s final attempt at a jumper was sent away by Sheed to send the game into OT.
Pistons’ bench didn’t do much last night, they went a combined 4-21 from the field, including a 1-8 from Jarvis Hayes and 0-4 from Rodney Stuckey.
Emeka Okafor and Nazr combined for 28 rebounds.
Let’s hope for a Pistons blowout of the lowly New York Knicks tonight at 7:00 p.m.
