Rasheed, Pistons Notch Crucial Win In San Antonio; 90-80
Detroit handed the Spurs only their third home loss of the season as they avoided a 3-game losing streak Thursday night.
The Pistons made a statement last night, showing every one that they can keep their heads on straight in the midst of two disappointing losses and nab a win in the house of the defending NBA champs.
Rasheed was truly SHEEDtastic last night, finishing with an awfully crowded stat line. He hit 9-15 for 23 points, 15 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. He also played smart defense in the 1st after picking up a quick personal, to avoid getting a 2nd. That’s All-Star material if you ask me.
Tim Duncan had an almost identical stat line with 24 points and 15 rebounds.
Our starters were on fire, and therefore played a lot. Every starter, except Dyess, played over 38 minutes.
The Pistons held reigning Finals MVP Tony “Love Triangle” Parker and Manu “Flop” Ginobili to 12 and 9 points respectively on a combined 7-25 shooting.
Detroit shot 60% in the first half.
Lindsey Hunter- quite possibly the best 6 minutes 15 seconds I’ve ever seen a 37-year-old play. He had a clutch 3-ball with seven minutes left as well as a clutch steal with six left that was followed by an uncontested layup. What more can you ask out of Lindsey?
It appears as if Tay has finally broken out of that slump with 17 points, let’s just hope it stays that way.
Bruce Bowen- where is your defensive prowess now? 2 rebounds, 2 blocks and 0 points?
Mr. Consistency quietly played the role once again, 7-13 shooting, 18 points.
Looks like Cheap Shot Rob is all but packed up and ready to retire.
The infamous Manu Flop only came out once, when the Manu Flop promptly threw his body across the floor for none other than a successful Manu Flop offensive foul.
