Pistons Annihilate Bucks; 114-69

rip-hamilton-12-31-07.jpgThe Pistons ended 2007 with a four-course venison dinner- a 45-point obliteration at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.

ppbullet.pngThis was the biggest blowout I had seen for a long time, anywhere in the NBA.  I’m guessing it’s probably been a while since won by 45+ while still holding their opponent under 70.  It was the Pistons largest win margin since they killed Boston by 52 points almost 5 years ago.

ppbullet.pngThere was simply no answer for Rip.  He shot a near-perfect 9-10 from the field and hit both of his 3-point attempts.  He now stands at 4th in the league in 3-point hit percentage with just over 49%.

ppbullet.pngI’m not saying that the outcome would have been different, but the Bucks looked pretty lost without the guidance of starting point guard Mo Williams.

ppbullet.pngJarvis Hayes remained red-hot from the field, scoring 14 points in 17 minutes.

ppbullet.png33 team assists as opposed to the Bucks’ 14.  Chauncey had almost as many assists by himself as the whole Milwaukee team.

ppbullet.pngAs well as the Pistons have the small foward position covered, I would still like to see more of Walter Herrmann.  He made both attempted field goals and hit 3 free throws, notching 8 points in just 6 minutes of play.

ppbullet.pngNo Piston starter had more than 1 turnover;  12 team turnovers.

ppbullet.pngWith that win, the Pistons improved to 24-7 and remain in the midst of an NBA-best 9-game win streak.
