Pistons Shut Down Warriors; 109-87
The Pistons added to a hefty list of blowouts this season as a balanced attack led them to an easy 109-87 victory over the Golden State Warriors Sunday afternoon.
Detroit held all the cards in this one- they shot 50% on offense while stifling the Warriors on the other end of the floor.
Speaking of stifling defense- Max had 6 blocks (and a pretty impressive missed dunk).
I’m surprised as many people made it to the game that did, judging from the size of that snowstorm. Less than half of the Palace was full the entire game (see picture at end of article).
Detroit absolutely shut down Baron Davis, who was limited to 2 points on 1-8 shooting.
Tayshaun, who has been plagued with inconsistency this season, had a good game today, picking up 23 points.
Newly dubbed Piston Primoz Brezec played about 7 minutes at the end of the game. Although he didn’t get any shots off, he passes pretty for a big man (C-Webb comes to mind). He had a beautiful no-looker to Jarvis Hayes as Jarvis cut to the hoop for an easy bucket.
Walter Herrmann was inactive.
Dice had yet another solid double-double effort scoring 14 and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Arron Afflalo got a lot of playing time and didn’t let it go to waste. He scored 11 off the bench with 4 boards and 2 dimes.
Hooper was cleaning snow off of the cars in the parking lot. I guess you don’t pay $10 to park there for nothing.
We’ve got the REAL DEAL coming up on Wednesday- the Pistons visit the Boston Celtics to try to break that little 12-0 home win streak they’ve got going this season. The Pistons have a shot, but they’re really going to have to bring their “A game.” Thankfully, 2 days of rest and practice comes beforehand.
Boston is 19-2 overall.
Looks like the snow is back…
