Pistons 104, Bobcats 85

dyess1.jpgThe Pistons cruised to an easy victory over Charlotte Sunday night, but “got caught napping” in the 3rd, when the game got interesting…for about 5 minutes.

ppbullet.pngThis one was a sleeper- the Bobcats just couldn’t get anything going. They’re a talented team and I expected a closer game, it looks like they’re just having chemistry issues as well as simply not being able to get the buckets to go.

ppbullet.pngThe Pistons absolutely dominated the boards, out-rebounding Charlotte by 18. Although the Bobcats do have an undersized roster, it’s nice to see those kinds of numbers.

ppbullet.pngDetroit shot nearly 90% from the stripe on 36 free throw attempts.

ppbullet.pngGerald Wallace, the Bobcats’ #1 scoring option, was held to just 3 points. Not to mention Emeka Okafor only pulled down 4 rebounds.

ppbullet.pngDespite their current skid, I think the Bobcats have the potential to still be a playoff team. They haven’t fully meshed yet with new coach Sam Vincent and Jason Richardson’s role on the team is definitely present, but still remains kind of awkward at times. If they can get a couple things ironed out, they’ve got it made.

ppbullet.pngI don’t know if there’s a faith issue here, but I was hoping to see Walter Herrmann more in Vincent’s rotation. He really picked up his game toward the second half of last season and I really like his playing style (no Fabio jokes, please).

ppbullet.pngDyess continues to be a solid, consistent scoring option for the Pistons. His consistency at a starting position is extremely rare for a veteran who’s been through what he’s been through.

ppbullet.pngI wish I could make a video montage of all the times that Sheed and Dyess have given each other a hard time. Sheed was sticking it to Dyess Sunday, giving him flak for an open dunk that Sheed thought Dyess could’ve had more style points on.

ppbullet.pngI have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the halftime segment on Jarvis Hayes and what he buys when he goes to Meijer. No, I’m not being sarcastic.

Pistons visit Memphis Tuesday @ 8:00 p.m.
